Getting rocking at Stureplan

Just went past a very snazzy girl at Stureplan i central stockholm. This place is more known to be a very "aware" part of the capital where everyone more or less look the same and has the same hairdo and the same clothes. Very posh too. Anyway. This girl passed me and I heard her conversation with the phone:

"Oh honey, you know, I am just going to go down to Europe and chill out for a while in like Brussels and so... " Brussels?? Since when is BRUSSELS a place to chill out in? It's not a bad town, but very nerdy and very EMPTY especially in the summer.

But she looked very snazzy when she said it.

Ok...

.. my spelling has been very bad lately. I will improve.

Apilogies.

Refuse

In order to forever stay sane I promise myself to:

  • Never marry a boring Svensson-man, be it a Swede or any other nationalities (this is NOT a Swedish perogative, has anyone been to Luton Airport in July??)
  • Never travel to boring Charter destinations (unless with my parents with whom I would go to Skara Sommarland with if required)
  • Never wear Sports leisure wear except when sporting
  • Never live in a suburb
  • Never wear comfortable clothes only because they are ... comfortable
  • Never force my children to MUST do anything

I will promise myself and my future that I care about a lot to

  • always stay fit and healthy and never become a middle aged couch potato
  • always dare having a relationship with someone who definitely does not fit any sane equation
  • always play by ear in life and not worry about the future
  • always stand up for my on views and oddities regardless of how they are perceived
  • always love my children even if they are not acting accoring to my principles
  • always try and dress well

sports leisurewear

Man is a flock animal, that we know already. And it is most likely all good, nothing to criticize too much. we have to accept that we need closeness to our likes in order to feel comfortable. Fair deal.

BUT, does this mean that everyone needs to dress the same? And if so, does everyone need to dress in what is called "sports leisure wear"?? Am sitting right now at Arlanda waiting for my flight and very interestingly studying people's outfits. An alarmingly large ratio of the travellers are seriously walking around in 3/4-trousers, tops and t-shirts of "breathing materials", hiking sandals, as if they were off to mount the highest peaks or the roughest terrains. and seriously, it looks like ...shit, it's ugly, misfitting and very few can actually get away with it and look the slightest attractive in it.

I can agree that surf-dudes from the shores of Oz or trekkers from Himalaya might look great in it, but that's because they are in circumstances that require this kind of gear. Not in airports transporting people to charter destinations!!!
