Truthful Lyrics

Not that I am even close to being in love, I don't even have a "span", i.e. something interesting in the pipe. But still. Listening to Kate Nash, makes my heart burst. And I think of the Kangaroo and when I last had any sort of warm feelings for someone. Oh, I could have written these lyrics then.

All I know is that you're so nice,
You're the nicest thing I've seen.
I wish that we could give it a go,
See if we could be something.

I wish I was your favourite girl,
I wish you thought I was the reason you are in the world.
I wish *my smile was your favourite kind of* smile,
I wish the way that I dressed was your favourite kind of style.

I wish you couldn't figure me out,
But you always wanna know what I was about.
I wish you'd hold my hand when I was upset,
I wish you'd never forget the look on my face when we first met.
I wish you had a favourite beauty spot that you loved secretly,
'Cos it was on a hidden bit that nobody else could see.

Basically, I wish that you loved me,
I wish that you needed me,
I wish that you knew when I said two sugars, actually I meant three.
I wish that without me your heart would break,
I wish that without me you'd be spending the rest of your nights awake.
I wish that without me you couldn't eat,
I wish I was the last thing on your mind before you went to sleep.

Look, all i know is that you're the nicest thing I've ever seen
And I wish that we could see if we could be something
Yeah I wish we could see if we could be something.

Ah how poignant, a truly universal experience. And surprising that she's written it so young.

Unrequited love.

It's far from nice.

it sure is.

not sure if kate wrote the lyrics herself actually. yes, one would hope that such a unspoilt heart. on the other hand, i could have written it when I was a heart broken 16-year old... almost.

"I wish that we could give it a go,
See if we could be something."

That phrase couldn't really come from someone who hasn't had their heart broken before. Whilst yearning is a fairly ageless experience, the recognition that a relationship could amount to something, sounds a little more timeworn and wistful. A little more knowing, as it recognises how rarely such a thing is possible.

they rarely amount, those start-offs that are complicated, we all know that.

as the oracle from chiswick puts it : "what is right is light, and what is light is right" (doesn't translate 100% into english but still, you get me)

Hi, Just returned here to advise you regarding Mobile Monopoly. It is a superb technique and WILL make you money, especially seeing as you own a website. Take a quick look at the video, the strategy is about using Mobile Advertising which is fresh and an unexposed market where you can make thousands by doing hardly any work. I assure you that after you watch their short video it will change you and it will start making you think. http://mobile-mastermind.com
